The demo scenario, by its codes

The seed loads one coherent story: Northern Coastal Freight (NCF) needs a temporary licence to carry solar-farm project cargo Brisbane → Darwin on the foreign-flagged Pacific Merchant, because no suitable licensed Australian vessel is available in the window.

Code Record Meaning

Coral Trader Vessel Coral Sea Shipping's Australian-general vessel offered as the competing service
AUBNE / AUDRW Port Port of Brisbane / Port of Darwin
PROJ Commodity Project Cargo — structural steel, modules and switchgear

TL-2026-118 Licence The temporary licence (CURRENT)
AV-2026-118-01 AuthorisedVoyage The authorised voyage created from M01
VAR-2026-118-01 VariationApplication Minor variation — latest loading date 20 → 22 Sep (granted)
PM-BNE-DRW-001 Voyage The actual voyage (COMPLETED), 6,125 t landed
VN-2026-0311 VoyageNotification Pre-voyage notice (ACCEPTED), one amendment
VR-2026-0288 VoyageReport Post-voyage report (ACCEPTED)
EXC-2026-0044 ComplianceException Late notification amendment — detected, controlled, CLOSED
CA-2026-0031 CorrectiveAction Bring the notification-review checkpoint forward (verified)
AUD-2026-0009 Audit Compliance audit — satisfactory, one minor closed finding

The reconciliation to look at: open VoyageReconciliation — the row ties AV-2026-118-01VN-2026-0311VR-2026-0288, every dimension matches, the quantity variance (+2.1%) is within the 20% tolerance, and the overall result is COMPLIANT.

Rules of thumb

  • Follow a licence down, not up. Start at Licence → its AuthorisedVoyage rows → each Voyage → its VoyageNotification / VoyageReportVoyageReconciliation. The drill-down tabs mirror this chain.
  • A voyage is only trustworthy behind an ACCEPTED notification and a reconciled report. In the demo the voyage is COMPLETED, the notification ACCEPTED, the report ACCEPTED, and the reconciliation COMPLIANT — that is the "good" end state.
  • Roles matter on Port, Organisation and Person pages. The same child table appears under distinct tabs — e.g. on a Port page, "Voyages Loading Here" vs "Voyages Discharging Here"; on an Organisation page, "Vessels Owned" vs "Vessels Operated"; on a Person page, "Corrective Actions Owned" vs "…Verified".
  • ctls_reference = the Department's copy. Any record carrying one has a counterpart in the real Coastal Trading Licensing System; this app is the operator's working and evidence copy.
